BENCHARY BOOKCASE

BENCHARY BOOKSHELF by Marco Calhau, was born as a project to reduce the intervention on the material to a minimum, with the aim of creating a bold piece with character.
This low sized bookshelf extracts its surface finish treatment through the BENCHY BENCH project, where surf boards, human textures and paleolithic silex stones are the main inspiration.
The wood has been treated through the use of now a days carving tools, a technique that in this case has been used only where the different pieces that make up the set intersect to connect. Marco Calhau has only interfered in the intersections as a way of letting the boards express themselves and communicate what this beautiful European ash has.

A true ode to wood.

Flat packaging style bookshelf.
Can be easely assembled at home with just eight screws and no glue.

Customizable under made to order dimensions, wood type and finish with a waterproof vegetables oil based coat.
