Description
TUZLUK SIDE TABLE is inspired by the familiar geometry of the paper fortune teller.
The project translates this playful mechanism into a side table composed of precisely cut and folded metal sheets. Through a careful interplay of cuts, negative and positive surfaces, the design unfolds in space,creating shifting compositions of planes and volumes that evolve depending on the viewer’s perspective.
Crafted from a single sheet of stainless steel, the table is laser-cut and then pressed into form. With no additional materials or structural elements, it stands as a study in restraint, where cutting and folding alone define both function and presence.
The brushed metal surface captures and diffuses light softly, while the intersecting planes create a dynamic dialogue between positive and negative space.
An exploration of how far a single sheet can go, shaped as if it were paper.
